Sleepaway Camp Blu-ray Movie Synopsis:

The film’s credits sequence seems to suggest the titular camp, Camp Arawak, is shuttered and up for sale. The first post-credits sequence details a horrific boating accident involving young siblings Peter and Angela. The film is purposefully discursive in this sequence, something that will ultimately bear fruit as the climax is reached. We then segue several years later to find Angela (Felissa Rose) evidently the only survivor of the accident and now a ward of her dotty Aunt Martha (Desiree Gould) and Martha’s son Ricky (Jonathan Tiersten). Something doesn’t seem quite right with Martha, but she at least has it enough together to have planned a summer camp outing for Angela and Ricky, even providing them with their health clearances…

8. Eastern Bandits Blu-ray

Subtitles: English
Discs: 25GB Blu-ray Disc Single disc (1 BD)
Playback: Region A (B, C untested)

Eastern Bandits Blu-ray Movie Synopsis:

Some indication of just how twisted the story pretzel is in Eastern Bandits can be gleaned by the fact that at least two different timeframes play out in the film’s opening few minutes, with no clear indication that they are different, and when one of the scenes being depicted finally winds around again toward the final act of the film, some viewers may be wondering if it is indeed a case of revisiting the scene again or simply a similar event occurring. Within the basic premise of the coterie of Robin Hood-esque thieves working to defeat the Japanese, there are also a number of sometimes intrusive (if admittedly brief) flashback sequences that are ostensibly meant to clarify things, but which just as often tend to confuse.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron Blu-ray Movie Synopsis:

Inside every creature is a spirit that yearns to be free, to run wild without the chains of constraint, to live without the fear of captivity, the labor of slavery, and a forced, and false, feeling inferiority created by other, more physically powerful and capable creatures. When those things come, it’s just as much that inner determination of that spirit and the force of that will as it is the outer gifts of strength and speed that determine one’s fate. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron tells the story of one such free spirit forced into a life of hardship, its struggle to escape its unwarranted confines, and its quest to rediscover the magic of freedom, not only of bondage and labor but of free will and life as one chooses to live it. The 2002 animated film delivers on its promise of a heartwarming tale of courage against impossible odds, love between kindred spirits, and the positives that are a result of an ironclad determination to break free from captivity and prove to the world that freedom and victory are born of the heart and won in the spirit…
